Spring Training Opener

A Commissioner must keep one part of his brain ever-focused on the weather forecast.  Peter spotted this afternoon seven days out and rounded up five wifflers for a little Spring Training.  Low fifties and light breezes made the playingconditions very pleasant and we got in six (modified) innings giving everyone a chance to pitch and bat.

The Mods were:

  1. a batter limit of six per half inning.  So no matter what happened, after six batters the sides are changed.  This saves arms and shoulders that haven't seen any action since October.
  2. A new bat. Commish brought this Louisville Slugger model with a taped grip. Sucker was juiced. A special theory session will be devoted to choosing a name for this bat. Stay tuned.

There were many laughs and Commish says it's going to snow next Saturday, so those of you who couldn't make it are stuck with at least two more weeks of cabin fever.

I hear aromatherapy socks are good for that.
